A few places to stay:

  • Popeye's Hotel

  • Caye Caulker Beach Hotel

Here are some of my favorites:

  • Crepe's & More (Middle Street)
  • Lazy LIzard (at the split)
  • Happy Lobster (Middle Street)
  • Sports Bar
  • Koko King (North Island)

‚ÄčThere are lots of little beach cottages and small boutique resorts on this little island.  It's most popular with Hostel travelers and backpackers.

While visiting Belize you will find the "staple" foods to be stewed chicken, beans and rice.  Each restaurant and street side vendor may prepare it a little different, but we always seem to be satisfied with the variety of options.

Of course seafood, fish and lobster are abundantly available in season and always fresh.

island transportation:

On this tiny island you will ponder whether to rent a bike or just stroll down the sandy streets and enjoy the laid back vibe that brings people back year after year to this little jewel in Belize.

"Go Slow"

Top Island Beaches:

  • Best swimming area is at the Lazy Lizard on "The Split",  a  cut in the island that separates the north and south section.
  • Cross over by small boat and you will find KOKO King Resort. For some breathtaking sunsets, fabulous beaches and over the water bar and restaurant.....this is the place!

Caye Caulker is accessible currently only by water taxi; as repairs are being done on their small airstrip.

Water taxis to this island run several times a day; so check  www.oceanferrybelize.com or Belize Express Water Taxi for departure times and prices.

Caye Caulker is much more "laid back" than it's neighboring larger island of Ambergris Caye.  With it's white sandy beaches, beach bars, and water sport options, you will not be disappointed if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing piece of paradise!
